Ultra Turbo Sit and Go Tournaments
No time for long, drawn out poker games? I love the Ultra Turbo Sit and Go tourneys on Ultimate Bet. They take about 1/2 hour for a single table 10 seater. Live Poker Tournaments in Jacksonville, FL
For some time I have known of a completely legal poker room just outside of the Jacksonville city limits. I've been playing online for a few years and had never attempted to play in a live tourney (other than the random home game)...That is until I saw this billboard on US1 just south of Jacksonville!! I rolled into the parking lot not knowing what to expect. The sign on the side of the building read...

...in big yellow letters. I entered through the main doors and walked up the stairs. I was astonished to see a large poker room with cash or ring games and tournaments. I walked into the room, looked around a little, and asked the lady at the register how to get into a game. She explained that the tourneys were all ten seat sit & go's with a $45 buy in. The top 2 positions pay out. The games are professionally run with a professional dealer and prompt payouts. I lost the first game, but moneyed in the second and won the third. Not bad for a guy who usually sits in front of the computer!! I will return!!

Freerolls
I've been trying some freeroll games today and haven't won a dime. There are so many bad players that no matter how much you bet, they stay in until the river. I had to adjust my style from very aggressive with good cards to conservative. I can't win the big pots this way, but I won't be eliminated by some guy with 4-2 off suit when I have K K and K-3-5 on the flop. This actually happened to me today. I bet a reasonable amount pre-flop and went all-in on the flop!! Good odds, right? Not really!! The turn came and it was an 8. I was already all in against the guy with 4-2 off!! Needless to say, I was feeling pretty confident. I know he can beat me with 1 card!! The river comes out and it is a 6! I am out against a guy who had no business staying in the hand, but he felt like he was playing for fun. He probably lasted a couple of hands after that, but he beat me!! Like they say... THAT'S POKER!!
